Hi, I’m Rosalind Smith Sistrunk, a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, who specializes in Christian counseling and relationship counseling. I have experience in helping individuals and couples heal from emotional pain and trauma. The following have helped to shape my therapeutic approach: my ministry work, experience in treating anxiety, depression, and trauma along with the use of mindfulness meditation and Imago Relationship Therapy.
In May 2016, I obtained a Master of Arts in Counseling degree from Cincinnati Christian University. Besides being licensed by the state as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, I also hold a license as a Chemical Dependency Counselor Assistant. I am a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional, Certified Mindfulness-Informed Clinician-Level 1, Certified First Responder Counselor, and Board Certified-TeleMental Health Provider. With all of my education and certifications, my relationship and connection with God are pivotal to the work that I do as a counselor. My work as a Christian Counselor bridges the gap between spirituality and reality by fostering a loving, non-judgmental environment that aids in the process of healing. I couldn’t connect and positively impact people’s lives if I didn’t rely on my relationship with God. My faith and devotion to God give me the know-how and confidence to care for His children.
I believe that my work as a counselor is a ministry and at the core of this ministry is the love of God. It is my understanding that relationships and loving oneself are built on three components: mutual trust, empathy, and love. Once achieved, the relationship and acceptance of one’s self will grow deeper and more vibrant each time there is a positive experience or connection. Without any one of these components, the foundation of the relationship and one’s outlook on life will be negatively impacted. The counseling process offers hope and healing. I have had the awesome opportunity to experience many individuals and couples connect with God and improve the quality of their lives and relationships. I feel great joy while working with my clients and seeing the transformation of their lives from our initial meeting. There is no doubt in my mind that I was purposed to be a counselor. I absolutely love my work! Let me know how I can help you. Schedule your free 30-minute video consultation today!
